FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The documentary film, Tapping the Ozarks, will premiere March 5, 2014 at the Lemke Journalism Department. The film examines the increase in breweries and their link to home brewers in Northwest Arkansas.
For the past several years, craft beer has continued to grow in popularity throughout the area. This film documents the growing beer culture, and why it is continuing to expand. This film features several local brewers and breweries including the Home Brewery, Fossil Cove Brewing Company, Core Brewing and Distilling Company, Saddlebock Brewing Company, and West Mountain Brewing Company. Each brewer, and brewery, brings a unique perspective on the craft beer movement in Arkansas.
Home Brewery owner Andy Sparks and several other home brewers created a beer named after the film, Tapping the Ozarks Saison. The brewing process of the beer will also be featured in the film.
The film was produced in association with UA Productions and the Walter J. Lemke Department of Journalism. The film makers will be available before and after the screening for questions about the film.
